How long does it take to form my LLC?
In most states, we file your Articles of Organization the same day you place your order. State processing times vary — Texas and Florida typically confirm within 1–3 business days, while California and New York can take 3–5 days. We’ll keep you updated throughout.
What’s a registered agent and why do I need one?
A registered agent is a person or company that receives official legal documents and government notices on behalf of your LLC. Every state requires one. With our Full Package Pro and Enterprise plans, Corp Nation serves as your registered agent for free in Year 1 — so you don’t have to list your home address on public state records.
What’s included in the state filing fee?
The state filing fee is a required government fee paid directly to your state — it’s separate from Corp Nation’s service fee. Fees vary by state: Texas is $300, Florida is $125, California is $70, New York is $200, and Delaware is $110. We’ll collect the exact amount for your state at checkout.
Do I need an operating agreement?
Technically not required in most states — but strongly recommended. An operating agreement establishes how your LLC is owned, managed, and what happens if a member leaves or disputes arise. New York actually legally requires one. Our Full Package Pro and Enterprise plans include a customized operating agreement at no extra charge.
Can I change my package after I order?
Yes — contact us at hello@corpnation.com or call (866) 267-7628 within 24 hours of ordering and we’ll adjust your package. If we’ve already filed, we’ll work with you on any upgrades to your service.
What if I’m not in the state I’m forming in?
No problem at all. Many of our clients form LLCs in states like Delaware or Wyoming for legal and tax reasons while operating their business elsewhere. Just note that if you operate in a different state, you may need to register as a foreign LLC there too. We can advise you on the best approach for your situation.
